Do not take your children on this cruise. It is not kid-friendy. Unless your children will be happy being left at the ship's kids camps, there isn't much for them to do! The pools are small and very crowded, the lines for the water slide are very long most times, and the shows--even those labeled as family-friendly--are not! Also, the music on deck is for adults--Strokin!!?? REALLY?? ondeck with kids everywhere??? NOOOOO!!! The band also used inappropriate language, yelling out F#@$ You several times during one song. Luckily, our children were distracted and didn't hear, but we did see other parents gather their children and leave the deck area. Our first night on board, we did not even have a towel animal in our room, which our kids look forward to each night! There were NO fruit carvings and only one ice carving the whole cruise. This is something children enjoy and look forward to seeing on cruises. We did not enjoy the food at all, and had to wait in longgggg lines and then search for quite a while for a table. We waited in line for over 20 minutes for the chocolate bar!! NOT how you want to spend your vacation.Even though it is against policy, people "saved" lounge chairs--some saved many chairs--and the ship staff never enforced the "no chair reserving" policy. Literally, there were times when there was NOWHERE to sit on deck--very crowded!!!The decor of the Freedom is ODD at best. There is no theme or pattern to be found--just odd and end decor everywhere. We loved Key West and Grand Cayman, but were very disappointed with Ocho Rios. The people are rude and pushy!! We saw people urinating on the street, a man digging through a dumpster, and hired a taxi driver who quoted us one price, and then raised the price by $60 once we arrived at our destination!! Bait and switch--oh well--live and learn. We had previously vacationed in Jamaica, and had not encountered the same type of behavior we encountered in Ocho Rios. Our children were frightened by the people's aggressiveness. We heard the same thing from other families aboard the ship. Carnival should consider removing this port from their stops--not enjoyable!!We found the ship to be very clean, and our room steward kept or room well-stocked and tidy. This was about the only compliment we can offer for this vacation experience!! Very disappointed. When asked about our vacation, our children told friends that they would not want to take another cruise--soo sad for a vacation they looked forward to for a long time.:(
