We departed Miami on 16 April. Weather was nice, embarkation very organized and easy.
Cabin and room steward were excellent. The ship is beautiful.
Dining room service was excellent. Food ranged from above average to very good.
Speciality restaurants. The Murano was excellent and the Tuscan Grill was outstanding.
Sea days were very enjoyable and relaxing. The cruise service was among the best we had ever received.
We booked two ship tours: (1) skegway tour in Lisbon was two hours of fun (we are in our 70s) and very enjoyable. (2) winery tour in Vigo was above average.
In Cherbourg we booked a full day private tour of Normandy battlefields which was the highlight of the cruise. The tour was conducted by a retired Royal Marine LtCol who was very knowledgeable on the D-Day operations and his wife who was a Renaissance scholar and who provided historical background on the area. Their tour web site is www.normandy-battlefields.org I highly recommend them.
The disembarkation at Southampton was well organized and went swiftly.
This was our seventh transatlantic and one of the best.
