This was our 7th cruise but 1st on Princess. Our expectations were higher than a CCL or RCI cruise so we were disappointed that this cruise did not meet the expectations. I will however point out that many of the crew had only been there for a few weeks so hopefully it will get better. The service we had was not that great and the food was so so. We had chosen fixed dining but breakfast and lunch in the dining room was anytime. The waiters during that time were inattentive and just did not care. We love to eat all meals in the dining room because of the service which was lacking here.
This is a very large ship (our biggest to date) and the decor was nice. Our room was just a balcony room nothing fancy but rather small (on RCI the balcony room included a couch, this one did not). The beds were also uncomfortable. They pushed together twin beds and in the morning we had a foot gap in between.
The shows were ok. We don't care too much for the ship production shows as they are all the same. The 1st evening while still in port the show was a flamingo guitarist and dancers from Puerto Rico. Make sure to see them. The guitarist was fantastic and the male passengers enjoyed seeing the dancers. The comedy was ok and the juggler/comedian was very good.
