Embarkation went smooth except for baggage at the pier. San Juan dock workers were short staffed and this slowed the baggage drop off and loading operations. Total time from arriving at the pier to boarding the ship was about 30 minutes, but this could have been 5-10 minutes with more efficient baggage operations. Unfortunately this is outside of Celebrity's control and they can only complain based upon our discussion with the Hotel Director and Guest Relations Staff.
Disembarkation went smooth and we were off the ship around 7:45 AM. However, some folks had booked flights at 9:30 or 9:45 AM and this is a bit too tight just in case Customs takes their time in clearing the ship. Express Walk Off is not available in San Juan due to the San Juan dock workers, therefore, baggage has to be put outside your cabin the night before and picked up pier side just before Customs. Fortunately, our baggage was together and easy to find so it only took a minute or two to find it and move to Customs line.
Millenium was in good shape. We had read some reviews where people had complained about the condition of the ship but we did not find problems. The balcony's all looked like they were freshly painted (no signs of rust anywhere) and the public areas, cabins, and all carpeting was in excellent shape.
