Celebrity Equinox-First Impressions Can Be Deceiving

Upon approach to Civitacecchia in our taxi, I could recognize the signature look of a Celebrity vessel in the distant part of the port. The blue hull, the traditional Greek letter Chi at the top, now my heart was beating. As we made a few more curves and stops, I finally saw its full outline, and saw the Equinox. It seemed at first to be a longer, taller, and more streamlined version of the Millenium class. In a way I was grateful as I greatly admire the Millenium class, but also a tad bit disappointed as I guess I expected something more dramatic. In our world of bigger, better, faster, I didn't see any dramatic changes, just a beautiful ship. Little did I realize at the time, that I was in for some eye popping changes ahead.

Stateroom-I had read the staterooms were a bit larger but very surprised by what I saw, as they seem much grander than my expectation. Looking at the numbers afterward, they actually are about 15% larger with even larger balconies, but with the design layout they even seem much larger than the square footage numbers would make you believe.

Very well laid out, the positioning of bed and closets is superb. Large balcony as well.
