Description: My wife, three-year-old daughter and myself took an 11-night Med cruise aboard the celebrity Equinox. We met my mother, my sister, her new boyfriend, and her daughter in Rome, as they flew in from New York. Our group ran the gamut from the toddler to the teen to 30s and 40s to 75! Four generations representing on this cruise. This review will be written from my point of view.

Arrival: My wife, daughter and I arrived in Rome a day ahead of the cruise. Flew Alitalia direct from Miami. What a dumpy airline, but they got us there safely and didn't lose our luggage and that is really all that matters. We stayed at the Hilton Rome Airport for its convenience. We requested an early room (we landed at 8am) months in advance but were told we'd have to wait until 2pm. The woman behind the desk was kind of snotty and you could see she was kind of being that way on purpose (Everyone else at the hotel was very nice). Jet lagging and angry, we took a cab to nearby Ostia Antica, the ancient port city for the Roman Empire. A short 10-minute ride but still cost us 20 euro. The ruins are impressive, but we were so exhausted it was hard to fully enjoy them.

We returned around 230pm and got our room. The room was fine, and we took a short nap. Forced ourselves to wake so we would adjust to the time change. Walked back to the terminal for an inexpensive meal at one of the autogrill-type places. The Hilton's dining prices are absurd.

Cabin Review

Cabin was great. Large bathroom, comfortable bed. No complaints!
