We are a family of 4 with two girls aged 13 and 10 from Australia. We thought a cruise would be a great way to give the girls a taste of Europe in a way which would be relatively stress free with the added bonus of a fantastic ship to enjoy at the end of each day after a long day in port. Having been to Europe 3 times before I was so excited to return as it had been 15 years since we were last there. After the long flight from Melbourne via Singapore we arrived in Barcelona the day before the cruise. We spent the day walking around Barcelona and seeing a few sights but not doing anything too strenuous as we were tired after the long journey. The next day we boarded the Brilliance which was a quick and easy process. We thought the ship itself was beautiful and elegant and did not feel crowded at all. Even though the ship is a few years old we did not see any signs or wear and tear and it has obviously been maintained to a very high standard.

CABIN:

We had a balcony stateroom which was compact for the 4 of us but it was fine considering we were only there briefly throughout the day. One of our daughters slept on the sofa bed and the other one in the pull out pullman bed. If you have 4 in the room I would recommend getting a room with a pullman bed as the sofa bed is quite small for two. The room was exceptionally clean and having the balcony was great. There was plenty of storage and our cabin attendant was very helpful.
