This cruise was the cruise of a lifetime! The hotel in Barcelona, Royal Caribbean's Brilliance of the Seas, and all the excursions were wonderful! We flew into Barcelona a day early and stayed at Hotel Condes de Barcelona. The hotel was affordable and great...we would definately stay there again! I would recommend flying in a day early so that you can adjust to the time difference (7 hours for us) and to have time to retrieve your luggage if it doesn't arrive with you. Two pieces of our luggage were left in Philadelphia due to not being tagged properly in Indianapolis. The baggage department in Barcelona was excellent in retrieving it for us the following day. It arrived on our ship with 30 minutes to spare before we left! I would recommend not to pack a "his" and "hers" luggage. Pack 1/2 of your things in two separate pieces of luggage. That way, if one doesn't make it, you will have some of your clothes. There is a lot to see in Barcelona and since we didn't get to tour it like we planned due to dealing with lost luggage, we would definately like to go back. We did manage to explore around our hotel and had a great time. There are great little restaurants to have lunch and breakfast at near the hotel. We arrived at the cruise terminal around 11:30 and were on board by noon. We had lunch at the Windjammer Cafe and were able to get into our rooms by 1:00 p.m. Our cabin was on the 9th deck towards the front of the ship. We had a cabin with a balcony and it was worth every penny! Note: If you purchase bottled water....the bottles are Large bottles. We purchased 24 bottles (two per day for a 12-day cruise) and it was way to much. One case would have been plenty. You also do not have to pack beach towels. You can check out towels on the pool deck and as long as you return them on the last day, you will not be charged for them.

Villefranche, France

This is a port where we took a tender ashore. I would recommend getting your tender tickets as soon as you can. We didn't get into a hurry and it was 11:30 before we made it ashore. We took the bus to Nice, France (about a 20 minute ride for 1 Euro each way). Just follow the signs to the bus stop (about a 10 minute walk). It was very easy to get around Nice. There is a beach in Nice, too.

Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

We felt like our cabin was very clean, comfortable and roomy. No problems with noise. We loved the balcony. We were on the 9th floor towards the front of the ship.
