My wife and I took this cruise through a "specialty" travel agency that organizes computer-oriented technical conferences while the ship is underway and lets us take shore excursions when we're in port. This was the second cruise we've taken through the agency and our third in all. Our first cruise was our honeymoon, taken on Royal Olympic in October 2000, which also sailed to the eastern Mediterranean, so we had that one for comparison.
The high points for this cruise: The ship is new, clean and well lit. The ride was rarely rough, though I would expect a good ride on any ship this huge. Cabin service was excellent. The rooms were comfortable, at least by cruise ship standards; I was surprised to find that we could actually use the space under our beds for storage. I sure would like to see additional electrical outlets, though; is it a law that cruise ship cabins can only have one each? (Hint: bring several outlet strips with long cords. You will definitely need them.)
We dropped off our bags early in the morning when we first arrived, and we were relieved to find them sitting in our cabins when we embarked. I did like having them all in hand well before leaving port!
