Stopped at old San Juan. Arrived too late to get to the fort (it closes early). Shopping and restaurants about what you'd expect from an area near a port. 


San Juan

Took an excursion to St. John for snorkeling. We were pleased with the excursion but it was not as advertised by Celebrity. It was written up as a sail on a Catamaran (true), snorkeling on a beach (true) and Champage and snacks on the way back (not so true). The champagne was champagne punch, there was also rum punch and beer available. Very Cheap rum and champagne by the way. This was more like a booze cruise than a seemingly elegant and upscale champagne sail. Since all the guests were expecting the same thing, it was a civilized and well behaved group so it was a good time. Had it been advertised accurately, it would have been more of a drunken booze cruise and we would not have chosen it. 


St. Thomas

Stayed on the dutch side and just walked from port. Its a short walk. There are many vendors renting beach chairs and umbrellas with free drinks. Walk a bit down the beach, the price drops substantially if you walk an extra 5 minutes. Not particularly beautiful, but nice water temperature and relaxing none-the-less. Otherwise, just another typical port. 


St. Maarten

Not quite enough storage in the stateroom, but fresh fruit and water each day, a new pitcher of iced tea in your room each day (different flavor) nice robes, good towels, comfortable bed and pillows, large shower, excellent attentive stateroom attendants.He would hit this one shrill note all the time, breaking the nice Carribean rhythm and making you cringe!
