We had a lovely 12 days aboard the Norwegian Sun, a lot of good things on this boat, but as its a review i will start off with what i thought the faults were....... first, hygiene, dont get me wrong, great facilities for hand cleansing all over the boat, but one thing i noticed in the Garden Cafe, and all the waiters do it, is when you sit down at a table thats not been cleared, the waiters come along and clean your table with the previous occupants napkin, now i dont know if the person sitting previously at the table blew his nose or wiped his mouth on the said napkin, really not acceptable.
Eating, i would advise anybody going aboard the Sun in the future to go to the waiter served restaurants as much as possible, the buffet restaurant, the "garden cafe" is like a cattle market, very unorganised, not enough seating, having to eat your breakfast outside on a chilly morning is not a nice experience, the staff should be encouraged to move folk on, who have clearly finished there meal, but who seem to clearly enjoy watching people carryimg plates of food searching for a table.
Excursions, a lot of money i thought for very little, we took an excursion every day we were docked, can somebody please tell the tour guides there is more to a city than churches, we passed many an interisting place only to have a stop at another church, our bus was 99% english speaking, but on one tour in Estonia the tour guide could barely speak the language, my advice would be, if you can, try and do your own trips, there was plenty shuttle buses, taxis at all ports except St Petersburg.
