Fun cruise with grandsons 8 and 10.

Sail Date: April 2010
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: New York (Manhattan)

From a well organized embarkation to a self assist debarkation we had a super fun holiday on the Carnival Miracle.

We had travelled from Australia to cruise out of New York .... Sadly the weather was against us fully enjoying this. We stayed to see the Statue of Liberty but the rain and wind sent us inside to a warm and inviting interior. We loved the amazing themes throughout the ship. Our grandsons loved every aspect of ship life. They had good times at Camp Carnival and also on the water slide, basketball court and mini golf, The pools were cold, so they were not too keen to stay in long ... but loved the jacuzzi to warm up. Spa treatment for Grandmother was brilliant and revitalizing.

Our stateroom was always clean and well provisioned. The boys loved their upper bunk beds and spent a few quiet moments watching TV. They also enjoyed the pizza bar for a quick snack. Meals were delicious, good variety and well presented - sometimes not as hot as we would like, but More our Steward did all he could to make our dinner special. Even magic tricks for the boys.

We did not attend all the shows, but the first big night was superb and we all were delighted with the music and the dancing. Sadly the last musical show was unable to go ahead due to the heavy seas. However the shortened musical was much appreciated and Malcolm did a good job keeping us informed as we waited for Show time.

Traveling with kids, I appreciated the laundry. We highly commend Camp Carnival for their care and versatility with the programs they provided. Thanks Carnival Miracle Team for so many wonderful experiences. Less

Cabin review: Carnival Miracle Interior Main 4103

Our cabin had a great location and was very quiet. A little smaller than I had anticipated, but plenty of closet room and storage for luggage. Our Steward was wonderful and kept the cabin in tip top shape and always provided what we required.

Port and Shore Excursions

Grand Turk was an interesting if not the most picturesque port. Having been decimated by a hurricane only 18 months ago, it is amazing how much has been rebuilt, but many homes are still to be repaired. My husband and our 2 grandsons 8 and 10 years went on the Snorkeling with Stingrays tour and had a truly wonderful time. This experience was a high light for them on the whole cruise. I enjoyed the Grand Turk Experience and was fascinated with the past history and the information our guide shared of more recent events on the Island.

It was a hot steamy morning when we docked and after a leisurely breakfast be went ashore to check out the shopping. It was interesting and although we didn't go far the prices were reasonable to buy some souvenirs to take home. We had booked to go to Atlantis on the ferry and then a tour of The Dig and Aquarium. All was fine .... till the rain descended and we got very wet getting to the waiting transport that took us the short distance to Atlantis from the ferry. It was a bit chaotic but our guide soon had us in a group for the tour - which was very informative and we all loved the aquarium. As the rain was persisting we spent some more time checking out The Dig and the Big Fish before looking for our transport back to the ferry. This was all rather confusing and not well organized, as we had been informed that there would be transport if it was raining!! IT WAS. My husband persisted and we were taken close to the ferry, but given incorrect directions to where we had to catch the ferry. We did get there eventually by asking others but it was certainly not well arranged. We spent a little time at the Straw Market among the locals and enjoyed seeing the women doing the pretty designs on the handbags etc. It was then back to the Miracle for a late lunch.
