This was a girls trip. 2 first timers, 3rd traveler, this was her 3rd, first time on RCCL and my 10th,5 on RCCL and 5 on Carnival. Activities were good for all ages. Mike was the greatest (cruise director). Kept you well informed on time. He was always helpful and smiling. We were on the 8th deck room 8676 balcony room. It is towards the back of the ship and very quiet. Balcony clean with easy access. Sliding door is nice because it doesn't take room to open. Typical size balcony. Light available was nice to use to read at night. Loved the shower with the door, no curtain to keep hitting you. Plenty of storage for 2 people. On all cruises gratuity is added to all drink purchases so this was no surprise. Prices have gone up on drinks since 12/08. It was a pleasant surprise to have so many nonsmoking lounges. I normally have to forgo due to smoking. Shows were good, ice skating was great considering the ship was rocking side to side. Might want to get a more upbeat Broadway show. Singers and Dancers were good just didn't have a good show. Steak was tough for most of the trip. Johnny rockets definitely worth the $4.95 charge, food was so fresh and service with a smile and sunny attitude. All staff went out of their way to give service with a smile. Ship late to port due to fog. When we finally made it aboard our luggage beat us to our room. Dale made sure our room was always neat and clean. There was a leak in the ceiling outside our room. They were quick to fix and clean the area. No smell noted. RCCL gave each person a $20 credit since most people were not on the ship until 5pm. First night disorganized, all problems fixed by the next morning. Safety was main concern during bad weather. Decks closed. We did our time dining that worked well, after the first night we reserved the same table and had great service. She may be ten years old, but holding up gracefully. We weren't there to find every flaw so no complaints on condition of the ship.
