Our cruise on the Norwegian Sky was from March 2ND-6Th 2009. This was our first cruise ever. Neither one of us had flown, been on a cruise, or out of the country before, so this was a big leap for us! Flight went well, we flew from Detroit to Miami. When we got off the plane, we immediately seen a Norwegian desk and were able to get a shuttle over to the port. It took all of 30 minutes from the time we landed until the time we were showing documents to board the boat. Getting on the boat was a breeze, everyone was very pleasant. As soon as we got on the boat, we were greeted and given a glass of bubbly. VERY nice touch. They were still cleaning the rooms, which was fine because we were hungry and went looking for food. Easy to find. We went up to the garden cafe buffet, and it was amazing. Nice views from the cafe. We were stunned by how much there was to explore on the Sky. Made the time go by fast. Our room was ready within one hour of being on the boat. We had a balcony room on the Fjord/Deck 9. Our luggage was already in our room, which was very nice. Our stewards stopped by and greeted us, they proved to be very awesome. Nap time! We had been up since 3am, and it was nice to sleep for an hour. Then we had the notorious life boat drill, and bon voyage! We went right back to our room and watched from our private balcony, so nice because we did not have to be with the crowds. We spent most of our first night in the casino, watch out that pusher machine will get you addicted! When we woke up in the morning we were already in port, Nassau. Nassau was amazing, we found a hidden straw market up by a water tower, roughly a mile away from the boats. When you get off the ship look for the white tower, and head towards there, it is so worth the hike. $3 shirts, 25 cent shot glasses, huge 'Bahama' duffel bags for $5. Good place to buy. Back on the boat, again so much to explore and see, food was amazing. We mainly ate at Palace Main dining, it was so good. Loved lobster night. The next day we were at sea, nice day to lay out in the sun, the third day we were supposed to stop at Great Stirrup Cay, but were unable to because the water was to rough for the tenders to get us safely on/off the boat. Last day, we were able to get off the boat smoothly and refreshed.

Here are my only complaints (which are not major because this was a great cruise and we have another one booked with NCL in May 2010):

1. Drinks were almost $10 a piece 2. Cover charges at some dining places, which the main dining rooms are free and have wonderful food 3. Alcohol bought in the duty free shop or in port has to be stored until the last night at 4pm. (Due to this, everyone was TRASHED the last night of the cruise, made for an interesting night...) 4. Not long enough :)
