Rhapsody of the Seas Voyage 15611

This was our second voyage on this ship and for the most part, it was a tremendous success in many aspects. First (January 2008)

On our previous cruise from Hong Kong to Singapore the food, entertainment and atmosphere were just okay. This time each of these items were very much improved. One thing for sure. Rhapsody is showing her age with many minor maintenance items needing attention. Such as sinks that do nor retain water; toilet seats that are loose; shower heads that are clogged; drawers that do not open easily; stained curtains; patio doors that barely move; rust on patio metal. Etc.

Cabin Review

Grand Suite

Cabin gs

The junior suite cabin was great. It was midships and comfortable except for the problem with the engine.

The grand suite was just a little better as far as room is concerned and it had a bathtub. Two sinks and plenty of storage. The age of the ship has many of the drawers and cabinettes in need of maintenance. They either stuck on opening or jammed on closing.

Whoever designs a ship with the quality suites at the bow of the boat apparently does not travel much. Undulating seas will get to you quickly. The rough Tasmanian Sea rolled us well when we crossed from Melbourne to Tasmania. The ship lost about 500 dishes in the dining room and a wine rack overturned.

The Windjammer restaurant had to curtail feeding because of the turbulence. It was if the Captain had pulled in the stabilizers.
