Captain Rick Sullivan Master of the Rhapsody of the Seas ran a happy ship. Born in Canada he had spent his life at sea for some 35 years. He is affable, easily receptive person with a great sense of humor. He mingled often with the passengers for an unhurried chat. He was highly respected by his crew who mirrored his attitude. The hotel employees provided sincere and capable service without a patronizing manner
The public areas, the brass and glass of the Rhapsody sparkled from constant care. The 78,491-ton ship built in 1997 appeared new because of excellent upkeep. She carries a top capacity of 2,435 passengers and about 2,000 crew. CDC rated her with a score of 89 from a recent inspection. Hand sanitation stations throughout the ship and passenger cooperation helped keep her healthy.
The Centrum with its open atrium expanded the visible spaciousness of the ship. Elevators from the Centrum made easy access to the Internet cafe (55 cents / min 24/7,library, gym, climbing wall and the windjammer.
Cabin located on deck 2 amidships. Very stable during rough weather. Easy access to gangway, and elevators. Good view of the ocean.
