Traveled with children

We were on a family reunion cruise with extended family of all sorts. We were all returning cruisers - 2 to 4 cruises a piece. 5 in our immediate family. We were traveling with young children (all under 8), so Camp Carnival was VERY IMPORTANT to us. They did not disappoint. The kids were so excited to be in their various activities, that the grandparents did not get to spend as much time with the kiddos as they had hoped. There was always something going on from t-shirt decorating to creating "pucker powder" candy to scavenger hunts to themed parties each day. I am not a big fan of television, and I was happy that the staff was creative and playing with the children instead of using the electronic babysitter.

Unfortunately the weather was not the greatest for our cruise, but that meant that the water slide was virtually unused by anyone else! We slid maybe 30 times each day without a line, and that was a HUGE highlight for the family.

The food was yummy! We are not very picky eaters, but we also had no complaints. We typically ordered 2 or 3 appetizers a night followed by the main dish followed by 2 or 3 desserts that we passed around the table for everyone to try. The menu was diverse enough to stay fun and cater to our need to try new things each night. The chocolate melting cake was my husband's favorite dessert and he chose that most nights. It was especially yummy with a side of ice cream! The food was always decorated nicely and had great spices that made it wonderful! The wait staff was quick to respond to any requests and they were friendly at all times, but not overbearing like some.
