We thoroughly enjoyed the Transatlantic Cruise on Rhapsody of the Seas. Great food, friendly attentive room/dining service, and a plethora of activities to keep everyone occupied. Although we enjoyed visiting Key West, Sint Marteen , Malaga, and Cartegena, we fell into the groove during the week-long span of sea days crossing the Atlantic. We brought along computers, IPads, Kindles, and books to keep from getting bored but we barely touched them because of the tremendous variety of interesting activities occurring each day on the ship.

We were first-time cruisers but the length of the cruise was actually a great benefit to us because we were initially hesitant to try some of the activities but as time went by, we joined in. In the end we ended up watching movies; listening to astronomy lectures, Spanish lessons, musical bands (everything from classical to big bands to pop cover bands); attending entertainment shows (skits, music, and music theater), and exercising (Zumba, walking, stair climbing , treadmill, and elliptical).

Highlights would be Dan-Dan, the cruise director, the meals in the Edelweiss main dining room, and our excellent Waiter/Assistant Waiter during the cruise.

Cabin Review

Panoramic Ocean View Stateroom

Cabin PV

Plenty of room for three people (couple and one son). Luggage fit under bed. Great view of the ocean. Internet worked but at times was glitch/weak. Limited news on TV once out to sea (which has its advantages and disadvantages). Excellent room service that majically cleaned the room every time we left the cabin.

Port Reviews

Cartagena (Spain)

An amazing number of historical sites to visit but not enough time. Toured some castles and roman ruins. On a whim, also stopped by the Museum they have of a shelter from the Spanish Civil War -- very interesting....

Due to the compact nature of city, you can see a lot in a short amount of time. If you had time to come back, I would stay three days or so to really visit the various sites.

Malaga

I had lived in Malaga for a month so just travelled on foot to city sites. Great city with a lot to see and great places to eat.

St. Maarten

Travelled on our own throughout the island using city bus. Safe, cheap, easy to get around (if you get lost, just hop a taxi).

Key West

Nice town to walk around. We visit here a couple of times a year, so we skipped the tourist stuff.
