Let me start by saying that I booked this room because it had 2 bedrooms. I didn't know anything about the Royal Genie program or anything that it entailed. It was not a factor at all in my room decision.
There were 4 of us cruising, myself, my 2 boys (ages 9 and 6), and my mother. We're veteran cruisers, this being my 9th cruise, my kid's 4th cruise, and my mom's 7th cruise.
We arrived at the port for our 11-11:30 check in, and while our Genie (Reyno) had told us to bring our luggage with us, we ended up leaving it with the porters because they basically told us not to bring it with us, and I just went with the flow. Wrong thing to do! The Star Class person in charge wasn't thrilled that we left the luggage, and I think we were "reprimanded" at least 4 times, lol. So, if your Genie tells you to bring the luggage, you bring the luggage! It makes sense, they want you to have it as soon as you are in the room, and we didn't end up getting it until after we sailed, so that was a perk they weren't able to provide (totally our fault). We were escorted from the check in area by someone (not our Genie) all the way through to the suite waiting area. At this point, after a very short wait, Reyno appeared (poof!) and we were escorted past the lines, through some back entrances, and on to the ship. He then proceeded to tell us about the ship, and we were (rapidly) moved on to our suite. This was probably 11:30, the suite was ready, and they make it a point to have the suites ready early for you. He went over everything that the Genie program includes, left me a very nice folder with all of the perks so I wouldn't forget, and made sure I knew to call him for ANYTHING at all. Someone mentioned in another review that Reyno has a lot of energy. This is TRUE! He is upbeat all the time, the energy is either infectious for you, or a little hard to take, ha ha. :) It all depends on your personality.
Beautiful, spacious, LOUD! I cannot say this enough, the room was so loud, to the point of being unenjoyable.
We stayed overnight at the Crowne Plaza, and took and Uber to the port. The hotel was very nice, had a restaurant (which was convenient), and a pool.
