Swore off Carnival line 8 years ago. Planned a vacation with co-workers who only travel Carnival. Tried to go in with an open mind this time around. Pleasantly surprised. I think the "Bubbles/booze" package helped keep the waiters at bay. Clientele had more manners this cruise. Do wish Carnival would station "Sanitizer Police" to the buffet areas. Ship was clean most of the time. At sea days could use more workers cleaning up common areas. Leisure activities on sea days need to be improved. Not a whole lot of options to choose from. Do yourself a favor and pack a book, deck of cards, or something to occupy yourself. Forget about breakfast in the buffet on port days. Lines are everywhere. Plan ahead and get room service. MDR service and meals were top notch. Yes, the tablecloths are gone now, but it is a small change that you could adjust to. They brought them out for elegant night. Smoke in the casino was not an issue. You CAN pass thru the ship on deck four if you take the time to explore outside of the elevator bay. There is a walkway to one side of the Northern Dining room. Dining/meal option are confusing. Read your FUNTIMES for hours of operation for the dining venues. Don't take it for granted that you can just go get something to eat, whenever you feel like it. Room Service is always available and I have never seen such a limited selection of items. We have a great vacation. On the whole, I WOULD consider booking another cruise on Carnival.

Cabin Review

Interior

Cabin 4C

Don't recall what category it was, so I just picked 4C. Clean, comfortable, nice decor, and everything you would expect in an interior cabin. Located in the belly, so rocking with the waves is not too bad of an issue. Close enough to elevator and ironing room. Laundry facilities were up one deck.

Port Reviews

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

If flying into Orlando, consider renting a car for the day. Drop off in Cape Canaveral and use their shuttle. Traffic for private cars was awful. During Sail Away, keep your eyes open for dolphins in the harbor.

Costa Maya

Very clean and safe port. Built exclusively for you by the cruise industry.

Cozumel

Port is very clean and safe. Taxis are available outside the main gates to take you anywhere you want to go. Did you know there is a chocolate factory on the island? Visit Kao-Kao for the tour or just the tasting.
