We had a wonderful time on Ventura with smooth sailing for the most part and lovely weather. The Caribbean has been on our bucket list and it surpassed all our expectations. So many other reviews have covered things like cabins and dining but I will just put a few of mine and my husbands own personal observations down in case anyone is interested.
In most areas we were very happy with P and O's product and we are booked for Aurora next year for Scandinavia. This was a fully booked cruise with a lot of very elderly passengers but the staff were so good and efficient and helpful that this did not really impact negatively when getting off and on ship in ports, they handled anyone with mobility problems very speedily and safely.
For us 28 nights was a little too long and after the 8 days at sea we were getting cabin fever but we wanted winter sunshine and did not want to fly so we knew we had a lot of sea days. To give P and O credit they do provide a lot of activities but everywhere was so busy with a fully booked cruise that we got sick of fighting to get a seat anywhere so we resorted to sitting on our balcony on most sea days after we did the morning quiz. We had lovely weather once past the Canaries so sitting on the balcony was fine for us.
I am not sure what category our cabin was but it was on 11th deck cabin B622. Balcony midship aft. very handy for laundrette and aft stairs and lifts also very close to midship stairs and lifts. Very quiet.
we went to Tiki beach and it cost 30 USD for taxi there and another 30USD for sunbeds and parasol but we were given tokens for that value to spend at the bar for food and drink. Beautiful white soft sandy beach, quite a lot of vendors but they left us alone with a polite no thank you
Beautiful Island with superb beach at Cane Garden Bay. Easy to get to on the tourist buses outside the dock
rainy day, last day of cruise, nice safe town, we just took the tourist tram for an hour tour and did a bit of shopping. People very friendly
