We love cruise days but unfortunately the weather did not cooperate. It was cool and some days had very rough seas. We didn't find too much to keep us busy that we were interested in. The shops were few and very small. The sun came out when we hit Hawaii and we had a beautiful day in Maui for our whale watching tour. Would we take this cruise again? Probably not at this time of year. We have done it twice now and I think it's enough. The first time taking this cruise we were so active with the cruise critic group that we never got bored. Meet and greet, scavenger hunt, cabin crawl, complimentary tour of the bridge. I know it's a lot of work to get those things organized and nobody wanted to step up to the plate this time, understandably so.

The entertainment was excellent and the cruise director David Clark was exceptional. Very entertaining himself. I can understand why everyone likes to follow him on the ships he is working on. He was going to the Caribbean after this Hawaii cruise. So if you're going to the Caribbean look for the ship he'll be on you won't be disappointed. Captain Tuvo was wonderful. Always greeting people and interacting with us during the cruise. Even saw him help bus a table.

Cabin Review

Cabin Ocean view state room with obstructed view

Our obstructed view in cabin E408 wasn't bad at all. I took a picture of our view to attach but for some reason wasn't able to.

Port Reviews

Los Angeles

We didn't take an excursion but I would like to say we used Prime Time Shuttle round trip from the airport to the cruise ship and they were excellent. Easy to locate and prompt. I would highly recommend them.

Hilo

We took the free shuttle to the town market. Since it's only one way (if you don't take their island tour) we took a taxi back to the ship.

Ensenada

We took the free shuttle into town. Very dirty, but it's Mexico. Walked around, stopped for a beer and chips and salsa then took the shuttle back to the ship. Lots of vendors selling items.

Kauai

We took the free shuttle to the shopping area. Had the weather been warm we were planning to go to the beach next to the Kauai Marriott, Dukes, ABC store and other restaurants and shops. There are rentals for umbrellas, chairs, surfboards, etc. available. Instead we shopped and went back to the ship. Took another free shuttle to Hilo Hattie's which happens to be close to Walmart where you can buy cases of soda to take back on the ship. Or you can take the free shuttle to KMart to.
