I was on the AOS for the July 12th Southern Caribbean cruise. Overall the cruise was ok but it was also very disappointing. This was my 4th cruise and my first cruise to the Southern Caribbean. This was also my 2nd and last time on Royal Caribbean. I have also cruised with Celebrity and Princess. Celebrity thus far has been my favorite cruising experience. Before I comment on the negative aspects of the cruise, there were also positive aspects. I really liked the ship. I had been on Freedom before but I liked this ship better. It was very clean and the staff was very polite. My room was nice and had a nice balcony. The ports were also nice and I enjoyed each place that I visited.  The entertainment was also nice. The downside of the cruise was the food. I thought it was terrible. The food was not hot enough for me in the Windjammer and the dining room food tasted like frozen entrees to me. I did like the food at the Cafe Promenade. I felt like I was eating in a Shoneys type of restaurant. I was expecting the food to be more upscale.  The good part of not liking the food was that I probably did not gain any weight on the cruise. The bad food was extremely disappointing.I also learned that I want my a room on the port side of the ship and I really liked being on deck 6.I do think that I will cruise Eastern or Western Caribbean in the future. Taking the Southern route was nice but I prefer the Eastern or Western ports of call better.
