This amazing small ship, the Pacific Princess, is from another era. As previous reviews have noted, this ship is great with less than 700 passengers on board at any given time. However, the ship needs some renovation and that is scheduled, as I understand it, in May of 2017. Yet the fact of a needed updating does not diminish the wonderful cruise from Rome to Ft. Lauderdale, the exceptional crew and the great ports visited.
I must start with Captain Domenico Lubrano Lavadera. He guided the ship through some bad weather, made sure all on board knew what was going on and was visible throughout the ship the entire cruise. He went above and beyond as captain and deserves special notice for his commitment to the safety of the passengers, crew and the ship. He was assisted with a fine group of officers who were also often seen on board.
The embarkation was very fast, just a few minutes, and our luggage was outside our door before we knew it. The disembarkation was a bit more confusing but got off the ship quickly and we were on our way. We had a cabin midship on the seventh floor, a balcony cabin that had lots of storage and was just perfect for the cruise. Our cabin steward, Bianca, was outstanding and responded to our every question and request.
Good cabin with great location. It was quiet near the laundry center. Heating and air conditioning worked very well. Nice balcony. There was sufficient storage for all of our clothing and other items we had on board.
Enoyed walking through business and residentail district of Hamilton as we did not take a tour here.
We stayed six nights on our own before boarding the Pacific Princess.
