This was a marvelous cruise that began in Venice and was to end in Barcelona. We had a gorgeous suite on deck 7 (an wonderful upgrade) -- it was very spacious and well appointed, with an incredible wrap-around balcony. Our steward, Marius, was so accommodating and helpful that we wished we could have taken him home with us! The perks of being a suite passenger was wonderful and included things like laundry service, daily fresh fruit and appetizers, daily breakfast at the specialty restaurants.
Our dining experiences were all excellent, especially the specialty restaurants. Our waiter was Joseph -- he is the one who made our experiences so special. The maitre'd and staff provided first class service.
The entertainment was the best I've experienced on a ship -- with talent far above the usual cruises ship shows. Activities were plentiful -- I even went to a service club meeting while onboard.
The cabin was very large -- actually two good sized rooms -- and very well appointed. Since there were 3 of us traveling, it was very nice to have some privacy -- the bedroom had a queen sized bed, a wall of closets and nice vanity area. The living room had a full sized sofa bed and a nice table and chairs, plus storage cabinets. There were televisions in both rooms. A curtain between the two rooms provided privacy.
The outside space was incredible -- a wrap around balcony, with deck chairs and a large table and chairs -- and unobstructed views.
The only criticism I had was of a personal nature -- the bathroom had a large Jacuzzi tub/shower combination (very nice) -- but getting in and out of it was a real challenge for those of us who are on the short side.
Steward service was outstanding.
We took our own walking tour -- and Venice is a wonderful place to walk. Very crowded, though. Wish we had more time...
Did our own walking tour. This is a charming town and I was happy this was one of our stops -- wonderful old world architecture, windy streets and something new to see at every turn. Good shopping, with stores that offered goods made by local artisans.
We were bussed here from Nice due to the damage to the ship and the cancellation of the rest of our trip. It was a very long day (10+ hours) and other than being stuck in traffic, we were too tired to go touring.
It was cold and raining and we had to wait in line for a bus -- I chose to go back to the ship and explore it instead.
