NCL, long famous for "Nicole and dime" charges has absolutely outdone itself. As veteran cruisers (40+) we can say without a doubt that this is the end for us and NCL. Completely overpriced drinks (Scotch and water $15.00) and grossly overpriced Shore Excursions are just the beginning. If you want room service in your cabin there is now a $7.95 Convenience charge. Everything is extra, including food items in the standard dining rooms if you want lobster or any special item. We get Freestyle Dining charges, and the Bistro and Cagney are solid choices worth of the extra charges, but the standard restaurants? NOT.

This ship is really tired. We picked it for the itinerary only and understood it was not a big new ship like the Epic which we had sailed on. We did not expect the Spirit to be this rundown and desperately in need of overhaul. One British dinner companion mentioned that the ship just simply should be "skuttled" after I suggested that it need a serious rebuild. The entertainment was inconsistent. Illusionist was very good, acrobats excellent, Moondogs not so good. SIngers and dancers mixed reviews - many screaming the words not singing them.

Food in the buffet was so-so - only breakfast was really acceptable.
