Sail Date: Aug 2016
Cabin: Havana Cabana (Balcony)

We had been looking to do a European cruise for a couple years to celebrate milestone birthdays and when the new Vista was announced, we jumped on it for several reasons.. (1) The new ship looked to be amazing with a brand-new "Havana" area that included private cabins, private pool and hot tubs, as well as private bar, etc. - sounded wonderful!

(2) The itinerary hit several of the places we wanted to visit

(3) The price was good

Cabin Review

Havana Cabana (Balcony)

Cabin HE

Overall the cabin was fine - it was slightly smaller than we expected but it did have the larger balcony with lounge chairs and a hammock chair; As shown, the lounge area opened up to the deck of the boat which gave us the private access to the private "Havana" area.....the only problem is the "private" area was only private until 7pm and then they open it up to everyone on the ship. So at 6:59pm and counting a flood of people would take over and kids would be running wild without supervision, It was awful!! We purposely booked the Havana area to have the private access and the ability to get away from the masses. Once the masses showed up - it was a nightmare - kids jumping in the hot tub and doing cannon-balls in the pool and hot tub. And, I must say that both are VERY small because they were designed for a private area. It ruined our experience every day! In fact - one of the two hot tubs in the Havana area remained closed/drained throughout the entire cruise - we were finally told it was because they couldn't keep control of the area with both open because of the kids. So - you'd be sitting in the hot tub or the pool (again... a very, very small pool and small hot tub) talking to other adults who wanted the same experience as ourselves and in rushed the kids - tipping your drinks over or drenching you and your drink wile their parents looked on.

Port Reviews

Barcelona

Montserrat was beautiful - the views were simply amazing!

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Good option with limited time; It was one tour that took you to The Colosseum, a very small portion of the Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Basiica/Square. The Colosseum was amazing to see in person.

Florence (Livorno)

We enjoyed this tour more than most because it was the only one where we didn't feel so rushed. However, we were upset we missed Florence and Cinque Terre.
