We had not been cruising with RCL in some time and as a graduation gift my son wanted to cruise somewhere new so he could relax. There are not many cruises to the Southern Caribbean in June and we chose this one because of the ports it visited. Some critics said the ship was old and showing its' age but we were VERY PLEASED. Our cabin (superior outside with balcony) was spacious and our steward was a 'gem'. We like to have the same wait staff so did late dining and couldn't have been more pleased --- the menu selections were vast and the service was gracious and friendly. My son enjoys eating (especially on a cruise) and tried everything his heart desired --- three appetizers, two entrees, three desserts etc. He says he likes to do this on cruises because 'he can' and because it gives him a chance to try new dishes. We celebrated his birthday at Giovanni's table and it was excellent --- too much food and all of it fabulous....just too much to eat was my only complaint! They even remembered that it was his birthday! WE got friendly with the food manager in the dining room and she told us that she ship is consistently voted the top ship in RCL's fleet for food and service and I can see why. Only complaint was the port staff at San Juan --- getting off and on the ship and finding our luggage was horrible. Other than that mess we had a fabulous vacation. Of course as for the ports St. Lucia was glorious (second time there - also enjoyed Barbados and St. Kitts.
