Have been on many cruises with Carnival. We chose this one because of the itinerary. The ship, food and entertainment were lacking. We will not use Royal Caribbean again. The cabins are the same on both but this boat is tired looking. It is going to dry dock in October. The service was good just lacking in personalisation and details. The ports and excursions were all the same and not much different to see. This 7 day cruise to the Southern Caribbean had 5 ports and only 1 full day at sea. The day at sea was boring without much entertainment. Pools on the boat were small and crowded. The adults only pool was in the center of the pool and mostly shaded and closed in and very warm and humid. The food was maybe a 4-5. Room service was disappointing and only available during certain hours and very restricted on what could be ordered. (ex: breakfast Continental only) We had the unlimited drink package but it wasn't worth it unless you drink A LOT. Lines at the bars were long and the attendants walking around didn't like to come back and see if you needed another. The spa services were over priced. The fitness center was good sized. All ports had beach access by short cab trip none directly walking distance.
