We chose this particular cruise because we also wanted to visit Kennedy Space Center which is nearby. My 16 year old son and I went on the cruise together. We stayed in Cabin 8427 and could not have asked for a better experience! EVERYTHING from the boarding process, staff, ship, food, ports and sailing experience was FABULOUS! Our stateroom attendant (Edmund) was wonderful, and took excellent care of us and kept our room neat and ice filled. Owen, our waiter in the dining room, remembered our names and what we liked to drink and was very friendly, as was all of the staff on board. We chose to do the FTTF excursion to expedite boarding and disembarking. I HIGHLY recommend this - from the time we parked at the port, we were in our cabin within 1 hour! Our luggage was waiting on us and disembarking was just as easy - off the ship and thru customs and in our car within 45 minutes!
My son enjoyed the Club O2 for teens and found friends to talk to and hang out with, which was a concern of mine initially (I was afraid he might get bored). In fact, he has said that we need to do this every year and I totally agree!
The food in both the dining room and on the Lido Deck was plentiful and offered a wide variety. We enjoyed everything we ate on board. I booked a spa appointment and had the most wonderful experience. I believe the young guy who gave me the most fantastic facial and massage was named Vashnay. These folks really know how to help you relax.
The cabin was HUGE! It was clean and very neat and well appointed. Yes the TV was an older model and that would be the only suggestion I would make for an upgrade. Our cabin steward Edmund was fantastic! The bathroom was large, roomy and very nice. Some of the other reviews I've seen mentioned a bad odor. Not in this cabin - everything was nice and very comfortable.
Easy access to parking garage and porters are there to help you unload luggage. Port staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
Freeport is mainly a shipping port, but we did enjoy a taxi ride to Port Lucaya. However, the beach we were told to use was for the resort there and we stayed only a short while. We still enjoyed ourselves and had a nice experience in Zorba's Cafe.
You are basically bombarded with taxi drivers and gift shop village workers who want to sell you something or braid your hair. We just said no thanks and kept moving. Had a nice walking tour of the town. Went into the jewelry store that was HIGHLY recommended by the "expert" that was on board the ship. The diamonds are WAY OVERPRICED, AND CHEAPLY MADE JEWELRY! DON'T BE FOOLED! VERY POOR QUALITY!
