We typically sail on other cruiselines but thought we'd give Carnival a try based on recommendations from co-workers and friends. We were looking for a short family get-away before our kids (17,13, 6) returned to school. NEVER did we expect anything as bad as this! Thick dust on the phone, cabinetry handles, window sill, dingy and stained bed sheets and towels. Cigarette butts all over our balcony. VERY old box tv which was being controlled by the remote in someone else's room until we were given our own remote.

Dining room food was our only hopes of a decent meal. Great dining experience and waitstaff (Thank God!). Food choices on the Lido deck was basically kids meal items with ridiculous wait times in line. Featured "Baguette" was actually a toasted hotdog bun with lunchmeat. Buffet selection very scarce.

Unfortunately I didn't feel comfortable allowing my children to swim due to circumstances. The children's pool was out of order and the waterslide looked like a dirty bathtub. The pool was small, rusty, and overcrowded with children and adults. Floor planks on the pool deck were missing and roped off then a few days later the area was covered with plywood and masking tape...yes masking tape.
