This was our second cruise on the Divina. We tried using Lyft to get us to the port and found that this was far better than driving to the port and parking our car. The cost was minimal and the service was fantastic. The driver arrived in 2 minutes after our call in a new car that was spotless and had plenty of room for all our luggage. The driver did all the lifting for us which really helped us since we both have bad backs. He drove safely and got us to the port quickly. This was our first time using Lyft so we received a $5.00 discount. The driver lifted the luggage to the baggage handler at the port making our trip to the ship as easy as pie. This was much better than driving, paying for parking and dealing with luggage.

Upon reaching the terminal it only took a few minutes to get a wheel chair and a assistant to take us to the registration desk and then were seated in a frigid waiting area for a least one hour until a red coated assistant from MSC arrived to take us on board to the buffet for lunch.

Unfortunately MSC has no sit down lunch the first day of the cruise, only buffet. The buffet only had one high point, their pizza bar. The rest of the food was disappointing. Anything that was supposed to be hot was at best warm. I love oat meal for breakfast but not if it is cold. They had raisins, and brown sugar for toppings but by Wednesday the raisins were gone and by Thursday so was the brown sugar but they still had cold oatmeal. The fruit salad, chicken salad, tuna salad and egg salad were good. The chocolate chip danish were excellent. The waiters were all friendly. One thing I noticed that the glasses for ice tea were too small requiring multiple trips to satisfy a thirsty cruiser. The ice machine ran out of ice and the ice tea machine ran out of ice tea at times. There was a soft serve ice cream on the pool deck with cones that were delicious. There also was a gelato bar that looked delicious but was pricey.
