We have heard so much about Azamara Club cruises that we were thrilled at the opportunity to take this cruise. From the moment that we entered the ship we felt welcomed. The ship is not the most luxurious decor but it was clean and bright and comfortable. We had an outside cabin on the 4th floor Cabin#4033. It was sufficient for 2 people the usual put together bed and a couch with desk and chair. I would say that what sets Azamara apart is their staff.

The ship stewards were attentive and efficient. My husband especially liked the complementary shoe polishing. The food was excellent we ate in the complementary dining room and at lunch we ate at the pool grill. We didn't go to any of the specialty restaurants.

We didn't see the need. On two nights there were marvelous buffets set up poolside. There were roasted pigs at one and the other night which was called White Night where everyone dresses in white there was a surf and turf barbecue. The entertainment was a little different than the usual fare. One night a wonderful tenor from Naples sang in Italian. The cruise director and the crew entertained us with popular music poolside another evening. On two of the nights the cruise singers and dancers put on variety shows. There was always a DJ later in the evening. A piano player/singer was usually in one of the bar areas and there was some theme for the day corresponding with our stops. Of course there was the Azamazing evening which on this cruise was a concert with soloists in a medieval Cathedral in Mdina Malta.

Port Reviews

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Took a shuttle from Airport to the port We scheduled it on our own it was punctual and reasonable and we met another couple who had also booked this transportation

Sorrento

Because of weather we docked in Salerno instead of Sorrento and it wasn't a very easy city to get around.

Taormina (Messina)

Took a cab to the tourist area with a few other passengers. Found Taormina lovely but very touristy and the narrow roads were quite congested.
