This was our sixth NCL cruise. Nineteenth cruise over all. We chose this cruise because we wanted to go to Bermuda. NYC is a doable drive from our home. It's about three hours. The NCL website direction did not include info about how to get in and drop off luggage and park. The NYC police had many streets blocked which totally confused my GPS. It seems like that is a common issue. Anyway, after we got parked we sailed through the security and then waited for over an hour to get to the desk to complete our signin process. With no water (you're not allowed to carry any), in a warm building, I was feeling pretty shaky by the time we got on the ship. It was total chaos!
If you don't want to fight for deck chairs at the pool I suggest you sign up for the Vibe Beach Club. If you are interested, head directly to guest services when you get on the ship. They only sell 70 spaces. It costs $99 but it guarantees you a chair. Unfortunately there is no pool at the Vibe beach club. Getting in the adult pool was nearly impossible. People just camped around the edges. There were lukewarm hot tubs at the beach club.
Our cabin steward was excellent. We were in a mini-suite on deck 13. He took good care of our cabin and was very friendly.
