Well what a disappointment after all the hype and marketing, this was our first cruise and in some aspects it was a nice experience, however a lot of things were not right and they were unable to rectify the problems whilst at sea which we fully understood coming from a shipbuilding family and accepted this.

Having boarded at Palma de Mallorca on Saturday 11/6 for the maiden voyage, we were originally delighted with our cabin and of the ship as a whole, problems started once we got to sea though, our cabin number 2070 was midships and had a window, at 4.30am a pipe would tremble, similar to the sound of central heating starting up at home, this rattling and trembling went on for about 2 to 5 minutes and then ceased, the sound was next to our window on the outside of the ship by the headboard of the bed, we told the ships staff and crew, even the Captain about our problem and they attempted to solve it by stuffing sheets and bedding in the empty bedside draws to obviously deaden the noise, this didn't work, I feel that it was a hot water pipe that was loose between the inner and outer skin of the ship and when someone has a shower the pipe rattles, consequently we had an early morning call via the pipe rattle every morning of our cruise.

Another annoying inconvenience was the restaurant called Surf and Turf, it may well not have existed, it was booked for the whole trip from the day we sailed, so we never got to eat anywhere other than the Italian that never changed its very limited menu, the main restaurant 47' where you could only turn up when you wanted to eat and were told that its about and hour delay due to shortage of tables, or in the Islands buffet which I nicknamed "McDonalds" due to the zero dress code and rubbish food on offer.
