Our 7 night cruise in the "Yacht Club" section started well being picked up at the airport by a driver and taken to the port however the experience rapidly deteriorated....the description of the embarkation process was nothing like we experienced. We were not seated in a separate area sipping on cocktails and nibbling on canapés, we were in fact in quite a large uncomfortable shed like building with every other passenger. When our "butler" finally arrived we were given one glass of sparkling water. No one seemed to be able to tell us what to do with our luggage. We were eventually escorted to our room by the butler. Room was very nice, lovely decor, comfortable bed...smallish wardrobe.
My luggage arrived fairly promptly....my husbands did not....we enquired numerous times, eventually after 4 hours they informed us his luggage was in security !!! Unknown to us the travel iron (to be used during our subsequent travels around Italy) was the problem....if we had been asked prior to boarding if there was anything of this nature in our luggage we would have gladly handed it over.
The Yacht club area is very nice, fairly quiet, nice outdoor deck area with small swimming pool, hot tubs, bar and food facilities. All the staff very pleasant and helpful. The concierge desk staff were excellent.
Comfortable, nice decor, balcony bathroom. Smallish wardrobe. Overall very nice & quiet.
Beautiful city with lots of historic interest. Port is a short walk from the amazing aquariuum.
Beautiful views coming in to the harbour. We took a "hop on hop off" tour bus which was situated close to where we docked. Good way to see the sights.
Beautiful city. Interesting architecture. Easy to walk around.
Nice city with lots of restaurants overlooking harbour area.
Only experienced the vast port area, Port facilities not great. Township looked quaint but did not spend any time there.
