Have wanted to do a river cruise for some time. Researched all the lines then chose Scenic because 1) it was all-inclusive, 2) It was supposed to be a slightly younger crowd than other lines and 3) I hoped that being and Australian line, that we would meet more folks from other countries.
All three of those turned out to be true. The cruse was wonderful and exceeded our expectations in every way. The ship was new and beautiful, the staff was friendly and helpful and the food was very good. The excursions were well planned and executed and we were taken care of in every way.
The Scenic Amber is a new ship, and it showed. Everything was bright and shiny. the layout of the ship is very nice and the cabins are quiet. The dining room can be a bit cramped when everyone was there at once, but that was rarely the case. The lounge is fun and well appointed and the outdoor seating is plentiful and comfortable. I used the exercise room once, and while small, it has great state of the art machines. It is very nice.
Cabin Review
The cabin was wonderful. We opted for a deluxe balcony suite on the Diamond Deck. The room was plenty spacious and had plenty of storage. It was constantly stocked with wine, beer, liquor, sodas, water and snacks. Awesome! Also, every suite has a butler that will bring breakfast, coffee, press clothes, etc. That was a really nice touch. The bed was very comfortable and was adjustable. The balcony was great - nice to be able to open the window and enjoy the night air. When closed, it was very quiet.
