We selected this cruise because of the dates and the ports in visited, which were very good ones (except for Marseilles). We were very disappointed by the pool area on the ship which was extremely crowded almost all of the time. It was very difficult to find a place to sit near the pool. The amount of pool seating is disproportionately small for the number of people on this ship. The ship has a very large amount of Casino space, because it is a money making area, as opposed to a pool.
We felt nickel and dimmed on this cruise in comparison to others we have been on. For example, in the main dining rooms all but one steak option have a surcharge on them. that is really not acceptable in my opinion. We ate at the A La Carte restaurant - Le Bistro, where we found the food to be quite poor quality. We had hoped it would be better than the main dining room which was very poor. The Shanghai restaurant had some good menu options, but most were not good either. Overall food was pretty poor and disappointing on this cruise. It was also difficult to find a seat in the buffet area in the morning, again too little space for the large number of passengers on this ship.
We went to a couple of shows at night which were alright, a bit crowded, you had to prebook tickets in advance. We felt our balcony room was very nice and were quite satisfied for the value of it. I will not book another cruise on Norwegian. I have been more satisfied with Royal Caribbean and Princess.
The cabin was nicely laid out and decorated. We loved having a balcony that we could sit out on as we cruised. It was especially nice when we entered the ports. The room was spacious and had lots of cabinets to store items out of the way. We found the cabin to be clean and in good condition.
