My two older brothers and I all married within 17 months of each other. Our 50th wedding anniversary is coming up in just a few years, so we decided to celebrate early and take a river cruise from Amsterdam to Basel. From booking the trip to our flight home - all was enjoyable and we were well taken care care. Every detail was attended to. We had booked one of the most modest rooms on the ship - Viking Mani and we were very pleasantly surprised as to how nice it was. We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere in both the dining room and the lounge and ended several evenings dancing to our personal request songs. The cruise director was superb and each night had something different on tap to interest us. We took every one of the standard excursions and were not disappointed - an excellent mix of fun and culture. The food was delightful and the tour of the galley was a treat. Overall we were spoiled and pampered - much to our delight! A viking cruise is definitely on our "lets do this again" list.

Cabin Review

I don't remember the cabin title or number but I do know it was one of the most modestly priced cabins. What a surprise. It was well appointed and very comfortable. The window is very high - I had to tiptoe to see out but the brochure had been very clear about that. Advantage - we never had to draw to curtains and we always relaxed upstairs so the "no view" was never an issue. The other cool thing was that when you looked out - you were right at the water level. A totally different view
