Embarkation very smooth, probably helped by the fact we are emerald members. As soon as boarded oh my word what miserable faces the staff have. Where has all the hype ,joy and ,excitement gone. This was our seventh cruise with Royal Caribbean, Myself, partner,13 year old girl and 9 year old girl. We all love the fact ,holidays are usually ,fun, entertainment, doing as much ,or as little as you please. My children cannot wait usually to get into the holiday spirit ,but to our dismay ,the kids and ourselves where not impressed,

Upon a smooth embarkation things seemed fine, went to the windjammer for lunch ,food ok usual buffet style plenty of selection, table staff quite friendly. Had a look around to see what was going on ,NOTHING , TERRIBLE, .I have been on several cruises ,and never known such lack of "ANYTHING" going on .What a shame they cant seem to get holidaymakers into any sort of holiday spirit. I don't mean a full blown rave etc (lol) .I would have liked to have been involved in some sort of deck BBQ or sailaway etc. JUST NOTHING. I know that your holiday is what you make it personally . But surely when you spend hard earnt money you expect some sort of enthusiasm off staff and entertainment team . It never happened throughout our entire holiday, although some of the staff are extremely pleasant and cheerful.

I don't know if there has been a major shake up with entertainment staff and ice skaters ,but I get the impression rci are spending more on TAT (PROMENADE DECK 5 EVERYTHING A TENNER £10 )sales staff, than on entertainment staff . At our crown and anchor top tier event we had an ice show put on for us ,very good it was too, only to be told at the end of performance that 95% of the current skaters where leaving after that sailing "WHY WHY WHY" . The captain was a no show for some reason, I'm not sure why as no explanation!! ,
