I feel compelled to review this cruise for several reasons, firstly we are cruisers in our mid 40's travelling with elederly parents in their 80's.

The service by the overworked waiters in the restaurants was 1st class, however we discovered almost half of the passengers (1900) had opted for my time dining and we often felt rushed, this is not a criticism of the staff as they clearly had too many people to serve, for example coffee being served at the same time as the sweet, on one dining occasion we were told we would have to vacate our table within 1.5 hours or alternatively wait 2 hours to be seated. My Personal view on this is that the staffed were under pressure to clear tables as quickly as possible to accomodate the vast numbers of my time diners. The restaurant was tired with uncomfortable chairs, pitted glass In the mirrors and a dark environment, on occasion it was also draughty.

The itinerary was change by RC at quite short notice prior to sailing changing the ports of Corsica and Sardina to Barcelona and Toulon. The ship didn't actually dock in Toulon and RC were charging $18 pp for a water taxi, we later discovered that the local water taxi was €2 pp. As we couldn't walk into Toulon given the ages of our parents I raised this with reception, who advised they would look into it for us. It took me 3 visits to reception to get a response. They eventually refunded $40 as on board spend as it didn't seem fair and reasonable that they would change a port, and then charge us additional cost for visiting a port we didn't book the cruise for In the first place.
