This was our eleventh cruise with Celebrity over a number of years (with cruises with other lines in between). We find the quality of the cruise experience with Celebrity has been declining over the years, but notice from other reviews that this seems to be the case with most of the cruise lines. With the introduction of specialty restaurants the food quality, choice of entrees, and service has declined in the MDR.
Fellow cruisers often commented on the amount of "up-selling" that constantly takes place for beverage packages, specialty dining restaurants etc.
Overall though, Celebrity seems to still be one of the better mid-priced cruise lines. This sailing (June 7/16 - Silhouette) was a pleasant one. The negative issues included the cigarette smoke that frequently came up to our balcony (cabin 7253) from the smoking area on the fifth floor and the just average quality of food and choice in the MDR.
Well located but cigarette smoke form the 5th floor smoking area often wafted on to the balcony and into the cabin.
Cabin steward was excellent and the cabin was comfortable.
