We chose this cruise line because it was so highly recommended by friends and family. We selected this particular cruise because it took us to the most cities/regions we wanted to see within the time frame we had available.
We added on the two night package at our departure city, Paris, and it turned out to be the best possible choice we could have made along with our choices in optional excursions. The additional time in Paris helped us acclimate to the time change and allowed us to see some desired points of interest that we would have otherwise missed after traveling so far - Chartres Cathedral, Fontainebleau, San Chapelle - at our own pace.
We were amazed at how most things seemed to work so smoothly. We easily connected with our driver at the airport who took us to our hotel; we were welcomed by the Viking concierge and had our questions answered. One minor inconvenience was that our departure from the hotel en route to our ship was held up for almost two hours. We were left standing and waiting and never heard any explanation.
The cabin was very comfortable. Although understandably smaller than a hotel room, there was ample drawers and closet storage. The lighting was well designed and the bathroom was a marvel of efficiency. I loved the way that the two glass shower doors opened into the shower so, for most of the day, we could feel like we were in a larger room. The water pressure was great! Having the large windows and glass doors let us see so much of the scenery and created a wonderful ambiance when we were cruising.
