Cabin: French Balcony

We choose this cruise to follow our time in Basel, Switzerland where we attended the 2016 World Men's Curling Championship. The Viking Vidar is a very comfortable ship...one of the longboats with every amenity we could want. Our French balcony cabin was spacious and well thought out with a large bathroom and more than ample storage space. Wifi connection was very good. We can't say enough positive things about the food on this trip. Chef Karl-Heinz and his staff did an excellent job. All of the ship's crew were great. They treated us and each other very well and genuinely seemed to enjoy their jobs. From Basel we travelled to Strousbourg, France and then on to several stops in Germany with the last being Trier where we disembarked and boarded coaches for the overland trip to Luxembourg and then on to Paris for a 2 night stay. This was our third Viking River cruise and definitely won't be our last!

Cabin Review

French Balcony

Cabin D

Cabin was very well appointed with a comfortable bed; large desk; flat screen TV; spacious wardrobe; safe; refrigerator; large bathroom with glassed in shower and large vanity. I would recommend the French balcony as it provided us with wonderful views when we were in our cabin and the ability to open the 'patio' door. Our cabin was 2 down from the main reception area but we were never bothered by noise. We would definitely book this cabin again.
