We have been on several P&O cruises before but first time in Brittania. We had seen some bad reviews so we're concerned about Brittania but glad to say these were unfounded.
The ship has modern bright decor and is fairly easy to navigate around. The cabins are typical size bright and functional with glass shower screen rather than body hugging curtains. The balconies are small but we found adequate.
In April on Ventura we complained about the shambolic embarkation and disembarkation, something must have been going on then that they were not telling us about as coincidentally there was a big Norovirus outbreak on our cruise. BUT credit were credit is due this time the embarkation and disembarkation were both quick and efficient.
Balcony small but adequate, comfy bed, glass shower screen, fridge and tea, coffee facilities, hair dryer. Large flat screen TV and plenty of 3 pin sockets. Decor basic but nice and who spends time looking at this in cabin anyway!
Our cabin was towards aft of the ship about midway between lifts and close to launderette
Embarkation only parked with CPS after staying at Premier Inn
Complimentary bus takes you to within 5 minutes of town centre. Lots of shops and we walked through the fish market and took the funicular up the mountain. Lovely views from top with cafe and troll forest.
Small place with just a couple of gift shops but lovely scenery. Ship docks just a couple of minutes from railway station, we took the Flaam to Myrdal train which is one of the most scenic in the world absolutely stunning and a must do.Even at the 5 minute waterfall stop there was music from the mountain and a lady dancing in the distance as tradition has it luring men into the hills it was magical. Nice walks up the mountains as well
Larger town with lots of shops and small market stalls very pleasant to walk around the cobbled streets.
