Since this was a family trip, (15 of us 7 kids) we thought it would be nice to cruise. It was over President's week, and this seemed like it would work best. It turned into one of the worst vacations I have ever taken. Check for 15 people seems to be something they are not used to. We checked in by family, but the ones waiting were nearby. There was a cruise employee that stood there and told us we were on the wrong line, it was only for suites, (which we were booked in), and if we didn't have suites they would throw us out of line. Then she stood there telling us to keep moving to another area as we were blocking the way. We were 15 people!
The pool slides were damaged and the kids backs got all cut up. The apparent solution was to put a band aid on the wound, not close and repair the slide. The kiddie pool area was so slippery the kids fell several times. It was supposed to be for kids under 10, but of course there were older kids there rough playing and jumping into the pools. There was never a cruise member supervising.
Our rooms were under the pool deck, and someone thought it would be a good idea to plan all night dance parties every night. I wouldn't mind them ending by 12, but all night? Not a good idea. They automatically include service charges. Most cruise lines do, but if you request them to be removed, they do it. Not Norwegian. So, when I requested an adjustment to our service charges, I was told I had to submit a form (within 30 days) and I would have my refund within 2 weeks. It is May 4, and I am still waiting. I have called repeatedly, and always get a different runaround reason why it hasn't been processed yet. And there is always a wait time of at least 30 - 50 minutes when I call customer service. Today, I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told there are none that will talk to me. I insisted, so I was transferred to someone who was on the phone. I am still waiting for a call back. I would never cruise on Norwegian again, and would never recommend them to anyone.
Our cabin was fine and our steward was fabulous
