OK, I've been on many cruises to many places with probably six different cruise lines. This was my second Carnival cruise, but it was the shortestjust 3 nights—and our first room without a balcony ever. So therefore an experiment with one child in tow. Bottom line: we liked the Sensation and the trip was a blast and a good value.

The recent make-over of the Sensation is not to be underestimated. This ship seemed brand new, easily the freshest and "newest" ship we have cruised on. Our cabin was small-we chose an outside stateroom on the Main Deck, second deck from the bottom, and located mid-ship. The room was a surprisingly pleasant experience overall.

The GOOD-TO-GREAT on this cruise:

Recent renovations were a big hit! New room basically. For a small second-from-bottom deck average stateroom with fixed window located mid-ship, we were pleasantly surprised and very contented.
