First, let me say that there is no such thing as a bad cruise. There are just better and worse ones. For a little background, my wife and I have cruised a total of 5 times (3 RCCL and 2 NCL) and have recently began gravitating more towards NCL as we see it as a little more fun and entertaining. We were visiting AUS and thought a cruise would be a nice way to see the east coast. We knew going into this that we would be traveling on an older ship and knew that there had been a lot of negative reviews before hand. We really tried to see the ship through fresh eyes...
The ship as a Whole:
To say that this ship is tired is an understatement. We were really surprised to see so much rust throughout the ship, on the balcony and even below the port holes. For something as simple as paint, I would have thought this could have been better handled. The decor throughout is definitely a reminder that she was built in the 90's as the decorations are really out of date. One thing that we really loved about the ship, however, is that there are windows everywhere. You will certainly feel more in touch with the ocean on board this ship.
