We went back to our room and prepared for the drill which was held in the theatre. It was quick and quite painless. The young lady who spoke was quite humorus and made it a pleasant experience. On return to our room our luggage was there so we unpacked and got ready for our first night out. We had dinner in Moderno. It was an unforgetable experience but for all the wrong reasons. The food was poor and all the meats were grossly overcooked and tough. There was a football game on and people were viewing it on a large screen in the atrium. We gave up on conversation. I hope that when the ship is refurbed Moderno will move somewhere else. I also hope that when it says on the menu that meats are cooked medium rare that this will be the case but it hasn't been on other ships either so I think I am done with Moderno now.

Day 2 was at sea and we discovered what this cruise would be all about. The pool deck was crowded and busy as expected. Getting drinks was hard. The waiters were about but would not make eye contact preferring to just walk by looking at the floor. I went to the bar again to get our drinks. When we finished them a waiter did pick up the empty cups but didn't offer to get us another... I again went and got our drinks myself. We ate at Le Bistro and actually enjoyed our meal that night. The food and service were both excellent.

Day3 we had a nice time in Cozumel and chose to eat at Cagneys that evening. It started well and our food was good and cooked to our specification. The end of the meal was spoiled when the wait staff decided that since most diners had left and there was just a few still eating they would prepare for the morning. Except they started moving chairs and tables out of the restaurant, and these were the ones around us. We ate our dessert in a sea of empty carpet whilst watching the staff carrying furniture around. Yes, they had seated us exactly where the buffett section for suite guests goes at breakfast and were anxious for us to go so they could finish moving tables and chairs and wheel in the buffet fixture. We ate our dessert, were handed the bill and not offered any coffee. We just left, having not had a high end steak house experience at all.
