Our 14th cruise and the third with Princess. Our previous 3 cruises were all with different cruise lines, Celebrity, Carnival and MSC, and this cruise confirmed our opinion that cruise lines in general have been making cut backs and giving the same service and experience as we received some 5yrs or more ago.

The emphasis now appears to be to charge as much as possible without giving too much service. It is all pay, pay, pay.

On more than one occasion we had to wait more than 15 mins between courses in the restaurant. The menu lacked variety, especially the desserts.

Cabin IF

The cabin was clean with adequate storage. Smallish shower but functional. Found the location of this cabin to be quiet and convenient.

Port Reviews

Singapore

This was a half day tour included in our booking which toured the main sights of Singapore. Very enjoyable.

Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

Saw everything on the itinerary but the Whale Temple was disappointing.

Sihanoukville

Overall the tour was quite good but spoilt by the fact that the guide could speak enough English to narrate his spiel but couldn't understand you if you asked him a question.

Bangkok (Laem Chabang)

A most interesting excursion ending with an hour on the beach. The guide was very attentive and informative. A recommended excursion all done done at a leisurely pace.

Koh Samui

Transport only to this beach. The beach is highly overrated and sun bed hire relatively expensive as you have to pay the full daily rate even for an hour. The beach was fairly narrow and shelved quite sharply with quite a strong undertow. Not for non-swimmers. Constant pestering by beach sellers. Way more expensive than those on Pattaya Beach. The little beaches near the port looked better.
